have to see how it shakes out....from the pilot I'm willing to give it a few more episodes before I make any decisions. I like the actors, and the direction seems good, so it is all going to depend on the writing....

It's like this season of Dr. Who. They changed writers, so I'm a little "hmm....." about this years episodes, so far.

Like most sci-fi this series is a metaphor for something much more important.
Plz note that Dale Dye is explaining asymetrical warfare in the opening scenes
Also note the story revolves around a Milita Unit (2nd Mass)
Note the setting, as told by the actors is the same ground that the Revolution was fought on.
Note the way religion is treated, open, respectful and accepted
The same for the nuclear family.
Note the patriotic icons, flags, murals, buildings
The aliens are metaphors as well:
The Skidders are a slave race
Humans with Harnesses on them are Entitlement/Drug Dependant
Mechs are armored vechicles and there will be Attack Choppers as well
The true Alien Master Race (bad guys)will be bipedal humaniods that look just like Demoncrats but wear blue berets
This aint Sci-fi, it's reality

Well, I see your points, Kenno....and I hadn't thought it out that much. I just watch programs like this for entertainment, not to get political training....

Dead on.. I've always said..the REAL zombies we need to be ready for..will be doing the job that real American troops wont..advancing the agenda towards 3rd world..Socialist status for America.. And..you're right..they'll be wearing these...



The show..on the other hand..is barely worth watching..IMHO

I finally caught up with this one online and was amazed at the amount of symbolism in the series. It's much better than the remake of V for sure.

The CGI is horrible but there isn't a big enough budget for convincing pixels. The aliens look like the graphics from Mech Warrior II circa 1995. The storyline is clumsy. Better than V, but not by much. The fact that I tried it shows just how bad current TV really is; time to fire up NetFlix and watch some original Twilight Zone.

Falling skies is the best SI FI we have right now

This is the second season and yes its getting better each show

The story is good and new

Even the girls can run with out tripping and falling

The CGI is good as there is nothing that even comes close
That is on the air right now

I might have to give it a second chance, if things have improved this season. I watched a couple episodes last season, which were alright, but not enough to keep me interested.

I like the show but some of the setups in the more recent episodes were a little too easy to see coming. It'll keep me occupied though until The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones seasons start.

Some of the scenes are pretty silly. Like the insect-alien creepy crawlers trying to get at the two women in the room. Supposedly they can chew through the walls/doors, but that isn't dramatic enough.

So, somehow, they are pounding huge dents in the steel door trying to bust in - blam blam blam! LOL Ok, these things are maybe a pound each? Nice trick! hahaha

The other thing I snicker about is the Catholic chanting drone music that hovers every time a Mech is shown as if the mech itself is playing a tune.

As far as the best 'silly' new show that is much better than I expected I'd say that honor goes to 'Dallas'.

It's entertainment, it doesn't have to be believable or plausable. I watch it, in fact I am a fan. Watch some old STNG and you will realize how much better the cgi is now.

Coop, I agree it is good entertainment!!! Just some stuff is just soooo silly, I dont know why they put it in, like the spiders.
My wife and I have seen both seasons of F.S. as well as W.D., and we love them both! Great entertainment for sure!

I really like it, it's entertaining. You guys are right though, some things are hard to ignore, like shouldering a rifle to shoot and not looking through the sights always gets to me.
