Imbel usually made receivers for the metric pattern magazines. As that is what they used in the Brazilian military.

The L1a1 FALs (call it an SLR if you like) were usually made to accept the "inch" version magazines.

As for the R1a1? Well, I've never seen one real close.

And......I could be WRONG about this whole magazine thing.

Remember, the Falklands War? Rrrright.....Argentina had FALs and so did the British. But they couldn't interchange magazines.

Aloha, Mark

Oh you can insert a metric mag into a inch pattern fal and it may even feed an fire for a few rounds until it falls out onto your foot and almost breaks your toes lol. Nice package glws.

R1A1 is a CAI Built FAL they made them in metric and also with a Mix of Inch parts. I have owned both in the past.

The earlier guns had IMBEL receivers the later ones had CAI Cast receivers ..
