Anyone know what the market is right now for M1 Garands? Been looking at getting one. What's the going rate for a WW2 receiver that is still shootable? I'm NOT looking into the all correct, collectable kind...I know those are outside my price range. thanks for any info!

Where I live , I see 'em from around $800 on up depending on markings and condition...
'Course gun values do vary wildly from place to place ...so what they sell for in my area may mean nothing where you live.

You haven't lived unless you've experienced Garand Thumb.
Don't ask how I know.

The prices are crazy but I guess it's just supply & demand.

Just an observation, at today's M1 prices unless you're a collector, you're getting into FAL and M1A territory and a lot more firepower for the money.

CMP service grade are going for $750 and "Special" for $1050. CMP is the way to go. With M1s it is
all about condition. The CMP stands behind there rifles and will take care of you. If you are not a
member of a CMP affiliated club you can join the Oregon State Shooting Association for $20.

My "Special" I purchased a couple years ago. FYI 308 cal. is not legal in JC Garand matches.
The 'Specials' are basically a brand new rifle.

If you don't know much about M1's, buying a CMP service grade is the best choice to get into one. You probably will not find one cheaper and they are at least a nice condition shooter.

Once you learn about them, there is decent deals on the open market but few and far between in the northwest.
