Listening to the police scanner at work and someone walking their dog found a backpack with a suspicious device inside.

Police dispatched, confirmed it was an explosive device, and now the Spokane bomb squad is on the way.

On a walking trail near the baseball fields and viaduct.

It's also WSU graduation weekend. Had a pipe bomb found last week over in Moscow in a trailer park. Good thing it didn't go off. Could have caused hundreds of dollars in damage...

Official release from the PD says it was a pipe bomb placed next to some electrical panels. Apparently trying to knock out power. Sounds like a simple pipe bomb with a fuse.

Probably just some stupid kids...
