Europe is not so civilized as people think it is! I saw a lot of this when stationed in Germany, very few "equal" rights, You are ether German, or you are Foreign, and not of the same equality!

The german foreign exchange chick that lived next door to me in college sure loved herself a little foreign.......

PS: The German language, while in the throws of passion, is almost enough to cause laughing-induced ED.

I thought Europeans were all sophisticated until I went on a Holland America cruise last year and the Dutch crew openly called minority workers the N-word. At least it was equal opportunity N-word because they used it on everyone.

So what you're saying is the ship was manned by a bunch of wannabe rappers from the trailer park...

LOL.... when I was stationed in Germany YEARS ago, I used to tease the H out of my buddy's German wife (Andrea) that when Germans spoke their language it sounded like they're hocking a loogie every other syllable! :D

I visited the Ukraine last spring and got an eye full. Very modern in some parts, and yet very backward in others. Talk about hope and change, here is a "new" country trying to identify it's self and move forward to join the Europeans and "Mericans in trade and economics! Sure have a long way to go! Funny thing was, they were very welcoming of every one that came to visit, and there was no obvious race tensions that I ever saw! Odessa was about the most welcoming and friendly city I have ever seen, and it seamed a non stop 24/7 party! Big industry is really ramping up and people are working very hard for the good of all, Building a democracy and casting off the chains of oppression! They are also working towards a citizens militia styled after Switzerland, but a more progressive version, and are starting to allow personal firearms ownership like England and other European countries that do allow limited ownership! My Father in law is the very proud owner of a really nice Browning rifle in .308 win, his very first rifle EVER!

The crew that operated the ship was all Dutch, but the crew that handled all the cleaning, food, sales and such were mostly Filipino and people from the various Caribbean islands. I was having a drink with the ship XO and he clued me in that non whites were referred by the N-word by the Dutch crew. Awkward conversation.

They probably have a long run-on German word for oh stop don't stop stop don't stop oh oh omg stop don't stop....

HAHA, Something like that! Nine, nine,Aufenthalt,Aufenthalt,Aufenthalt:p:p:p The Cussing during these sessions is pretty friggin funny, Like No_Regerts pointed out!

Ukrainian Women are even more funny, more "expressive" with a much bigger vocabulary for these types of situations :D

I still don't understand the fascination so many in America have with the 'European' ways of life. Their politics, etc. Why are they supposedly the 'standard' for all thing good and right in the world?? They've got some serious f'd up problems over there and they certainly don't have the 'answers' for a Utopian society.

My ancestors left Europe for a reason. They hated it over there and wanted the freedom and liberty and the opportunities it afforded them here in the US. They learned the language, became legal citizens and considered themselves Americans, not Swedish-Americans, not German-Americans, not Irish-Americans, not English-Americans, not Danish-Americans, etc. - but Americans, period. They expected their children to speak English, they expected their children to act like Americans. They supported the war effort. They believed in this country. Now, a couple generations later, everyone seems to want to run back to the damn place they worked so hard to leave in the first place! It's a disgrace, and it dishonors the sacrifice that those who came here before us made to secure a new life in a better place. I think if they were still around they'd be pretty sick at what has transpired in this country.

I'm also a certified member of the Mayflower society, having proven my lineage to one of the folks on the Mayflower. They came here for religious freedom and today those who believe as they did then are being shamed for their beliefs, being told they can't believe what they do. Pretty crappy places we're in right now. A sorry state of affairs.

Europe can keep to itself and if anyone is in love with the socialism, high taxes, unchecked/unvetted immigration and other problems over there, please, for all that is good and right, pick your lazy a$$ up and get over there and stay there - and take all your buddies with you too. I'm sure it will be the most wonderful thing you can possibly imagine.

EDIT to add: I have no personal grief against Europeans themselves, I have many friends "over there" and they are great folks. I simply don't see the ideal that is in this country today to try and make us like them. We are different, let's keep it that way. And if it's not obvious, I am no fan of the idea of Globalism. Sovereignty is the way baby!

You just nailed it etrain16 My Lovely Wife insists she is an American, and that she be referd as such! By right, she has earned it every bit as much, if not more then those all ready here! My entire family from almost the very first is from Europe and Russia, and every one earned the right to call them selves American! They all cast off the ways of life over there and came here to make something of them selves, and a new way of life, A way of FREE MEN!!! I think a lot of the fascination is those who have never visited Europe, never had a chance to see the land of there families! Once they have, the fascination quickly wears off! The Idea of America is to great to want any thing else!

German is the only language that I've seen that can have words over THIRY LETTERS long... and that's just on the street signs over there! o_O
Haven't been to Greece yet huh?
