Was this made in Germany or are just the grips?

Are theses Elephant Ivory or Micrata? can you show a close up photo of the end of the grips. So I might see if there is a herringbone pattern.

Made in USA below the Walther logo on the front of the slide. I do not believe the grips are real ivory, only ivory colored material.

Do you have the original box and papers for it ? Is it a Interarms stamped PPK on the RH side of the slide ?

Interarms roll mark at right front of slide, no box.

I'm just starting my new adventure in engraving. I wonder how the engraving was done, I'd love to look at it under magnification, but fear it would cost me $1200 to look. :)

Not going to cost you to look. I'm not that way. However, I am not driving to Tillamook for the look, only for the ice cream.

It's a beautiful gun, one of the most graceful handguns ever made. Has it been fired much?

Just what you see. One magazine. IIRC it holds 6, maybe 7. I can check later.
