I see quite a few people who keep mentioning "kids in the house etc......" regarding whether or not you should have a loaded chamber in your carry gun.

1) You can't draw your gun, cycle the slide, point/aim, and then shoot me before I am on top of you beating you to death or stabbing you. If you are carrying it as it was intended to be carried; you stand a better chance of getting off a shot before I make it to you.

2) This is an easily solved problem: just keep the gun with you at all times. Kids can't get to it if it is on you right? If you have to let it leave your control, then it is time for a safe.

Empty Chamber carry isn't allowed at any school-house that I am aware of. Everywhere I have ever trained requires that you start loaded (as in "load and make ready") No match I am aware of lets you shoot this way either. It is a bit of an urban legend that the Israelis carry their pistols this way. Every Israeli I have trained with has doesn't have an empty chamber.
