Do liberals actually carry?
Actually some do - I have met a few that do but they are a bit different. They are the types that tend to be politically conservative - but socially liberal. It's as though they want to be identified as 'progressive' to their friends and acquaintances but their 'roots' are conservative. I suspect their environment has possibly 'forced' them into this IE they might live and work within a progressive setting and fear repercussions if they displayed any conservative values or positions.

I have a good friend who is my camping, canoeing,Dirt biking and shooting buddy. He actually is the one who convinced me to get my CHL.
As luck would have it,he is also "socially liberal".
Lives and works in inner NE PDX,rides a bike everywhere,etc.etc.
As long as we keep our conversations to motorbikes, guns,or the ladies,we get along just great!
I have another longtime friend who is about as liberal as it gets, but seeing he is ex Army, he is a great shot (doesn't own a gun,but likes shooting when we camp)
I'm not ashamed to call them my friends, but I still cannot understand the contradiction of beliefs.
Like I said,it's kind of a "Don't ask,don't tell" situation with them.
But when it comes down to it, my rights are more important than my friends, and a choice will have to be made when things HTF.

So, this may make me unpopular, but I'm not trying to win any contests. This description right here (socially liberal, politically conservative) is me. However, personally I have no desire, nor feel any pressure, to be identified as 'progressive'. I'd say my views lean toward Libertarianism, though others may disagree. I'm a fiscal conservative and am in favor of a smaller government, but I do feel that certain regulation applied with a light touch can be a good thing. A limit to ppm of rat droppings in my food? Yeah, I'm on board with that. Do I think regulations are appropriately applied across the board? Hell no. Most policy seems totally idiotic.

I also have no illusions about what the government values and whose best interest they operate in. Hint - not ours.

Liberally speaking though, I'm of the opinion that no one has any business telling anyone else what they can or can't believe in, or who they can or can't love or marry. Personally I don't want to kiss other dudes, if someone else does, I ain't gonna watch while they do it, but it's none of my damn business if they want to. Don't step on my toes, I won't step on yours.

Not a single person I know has the exact same viewpoints as I do - that doesn't mean they're not good people or that we can't be damn good friends.

When it comes down to it, I think things are pretty simple: don't kill anyone (suspended if they're coming to kill you or yours), don't steal, don't rape, and don't be a dick.

That's all I have to say.

Now, who wants to go shoot some sh*t? :s0130:

What reason do they have to panic though? They shouldn't have to be concerned about Trump attacking the 2nd amendment or our gun rights in general, if he is to be believed (I know many don't believe him). But what concern would grip them under Trump that would get them to suddenly arm themselves? A coming revolution? I don't think many on the left think that way.

But then again, this election has been unlike anything in past history in this country, we may all be surprised at the outcome.

As a side note - people are beotching about Trump refusing to say he'll accept the results of the election. That doesn't surprise me at all. What does surprise me is that people think that Hillary will accept the results. As Al Gore, her party buddy, has already demonstrated back in 2000, there are times that politicians refuse to accept the results, and will even file lawsuits to try and get them overturned. Hypocrites the lot of them.

The dems know what the dems do when they don't get their way, they burn their town down, destroy property etc.

Turns out, liberals just prefer to elect those who are.

That's the problem with representative government. You're always getting a package deal, and you might not care for some of the things in the package. True for conservatives as well. Just like Trump says, it's a rigged system.

There are various ways to make a system that is less of a problem this way, e.g. at-large candidates, and politicians whose political weight varies depending on how many constituent proxies he holds. But that wouldn't serve the interests of the ruling class.

As to "liberals" carrying, of course they do. Anyway, the labels of "liberal" and "conservative" are pretty much meaningless. I've seen a lot of so-called conservatives supporting socialism - as long as it's not called that. It's just labels. People get wrapped up in these campaigns and silliness but the policies go back and forth without difficulty. It used to be "liberal" meant somebody interested in liberty, and "conservatives" were staunch supporters of government no matter what. All these positions change from one election to the next. We now have conservatives doubtful about intervention in the Middle East, and conservatives who think Socialist Security is wonderful. It's all bull crap.

I have not really bought anything in at least six months. As such I guess I really don't know what the markets like

I had a friend contact me last night looking for AR lowers, said that he was having trouble finding anything in stock at any price locally.

Just curious what you're seeing out there, what it feels like?

Is it happening? Or is it just a bunch of hot air ?

Brad's Guns in Bonney Lake has about 40 Anderson Lowers, plus several Spikes Tactical options: Firearms

I get stocking up on ammo, and magazines, and reloading supplies, and whole firearms. I don't get the stripped lowers thing. If SHTF, or AWB, or magazine ban, etc., why do I want several lowers? Is it a profit thing? Buy now for $60, sell later for $200?

I suppose the reasoning is that if you have the lower its as good as having a gun if you cant get one later you'll still be able to get parts to fill it out.

Is anyone buying mags for guns they don't yet own, but would like to some day? I'm tempted to pick up some SCAR-17 mags or 7.62 PMags, but could also use that money on more practical things, like mags for guns I already own.

I'm well-stocked already, but still find myself struggling between the emotional want of buying more – I call it "Fear Of Missing Out" – and the rational calculation of how much I shoot per year compared to how much I have on-hand  Getting emails from my fave online shops saying, "WE HAVE THE GOOOODS! LOTS OF WHAT YOU WANT! BUY MORE NOOOOOWWW!" doesn't help (okay, that's just how my "FOMO"-addled brain reads them, not what they actually say :D).

People are beginning to talk openly about a second American revolution.

If any event could win-over more people to the anti side than Sandy Hook, it would be an abortive over-reaction like that.

This is the trouble with people mistaking their emotions about a fact for facts themselves. That you feel intensely upset if Hillary wins doesn't mean it rationally warrants starting a civil war.

SCAR 17 can take 7.62 PMAGs if you change to an aftermarket lower. I've thought about getting 10/22 mags even though I don't have a 10/22. Has nothing to do with the Federal level, but rather the thread of a WA AWB next year.

I just walked out of Curts and they have tons of lowers and AR15s. Im buying up the few things I want by this following weekend, but nothing crazy finishing a few projects.
