Well to be actually honest. Eggs for the most part are at the most a regional item. Just because one one area of the state or country has eggs does not mean every where should. Oregon has some really big egg producing farms like Willamette egg Who's production is spread around a bunch of different farms in the Woodburn Mollala Silverton area. So even if one location should get hit the others are still in production.

I didn't look through this whole thread, and don't want you going to my local stores ;-), but Trader Joe's has them at more normal-expensive prices like under $4.00 a dozen. You just have to get there early.
