  • What kind of car does a chicken drive? A Coop DeVille.

  • What Bob Dylan song makes hens happiest in the coop? "Lay Lady Lay."

  • Why did the chicken go on vacation? She was tired of being cooped up at home.

  • What's a chicken's favorite dessert? Coop-cakes.
These are just a few of the many egg-samples out there ....... tip your waitress . ;)

Why can't a chicken coop have 4 doors?

Because then it would be a chicken sedan!

As long as they're gluten free.
Well, you can say to me: "Made you look." :D

Eggs are naturally gluten-free. Any gluten present in a hen's diet is completely broken down during the hen's digestive process, meaning there is no gluten that makes it way to the egg.

My wife does all of the food shopping, so I'm ignorant about all of this stuff. She's a professional shopper when it comes to good deals. Not only did she get the two-dozen eggs for $8.79, but she also gets $2.50 on her Ibotta app account, which is kinda like paying $6.29 net for the eggs. That's another thing I'm blissfully ignorant about - phone apps.

Luckily our ducks are still laying since the chickens got wind of the strike.

Might be time to start lopping off some heads.

Today's featured egg was found at a local, overpriced grocery store. Costco was, once again, out of eggs, so Rosauers was a last resort, if I wanted to have something with my bacon in the morning. When I'm paying $7 for a dozen eggs, you better believe I'm looking through several cartons to inspect my purchase. I noticed one carton that didnt close, so I had to investigate further.
Found this gem in a carton of what would have been medium eggs, pre biden. It weighed in at an impressive 3.6 oz, while 2 of it's siblings came in at only 1.9 & 1.8 oz. I honestly have no idea how it made it from farm to store without being crushed. My bride thinks it might be a 3 yolker. Well find out later today or tomorrow, if I don't decide to auction it off on fleabay.

Egg grading machines are a real thing. How that got through like that I have no idea

Apparently the price of eggs are high every where. I've been buying eggs off my cousin (from his farm), I thought they where kinda pricy. Then he was out and I had to go to the actual store and buy some......well needless to say I was shocked.

We do almost all of our grocery shopping at Winco. When I go someplace else I am always shocked at the prices.
Winco is our preferred grocery. Their meat and produce are sometimes sub par, but we usually buy almost everything else there (except Costco specific items) and the prices are great. For a quick run to the store though, they're a 30 min round trip for us so I do the bulk of our shopping on my way home from work. Rosauers is 7 min rd trip, Costco is 10.
I heard on the news yesterday that Trader Joe's is limiting their customers on egg purchases, with Costco also considering that policy.

This is part of the problem. I was in the grocery store the other day and there was a lady looking at eggs. I remarked to her how much the cost of eggs has gone up. She said " yeah, we dont even really eat eggs but theyre in such short supply Im going to pick up a couple of dozen".

Theyre the new toilet paper.

just visit your local egg farm.

then tell me how much you love eggs.
My local egg farm lady is 3 blocks down from me. Her chickens are all over her 4 acre yard. .Happiest chickens ever. 30 of them or so. We are on her list of authorized egg buyers. Free range eggs $4 a dozen. Its all my wife will buy uynless it gets too cold or too hot out and the ladies go on strike.
