My understanding, as is others I've asked, is that the engraving is only required when selling the SBR.

Total nonsense. That guy spreading that lie needs to get the crap kicked out of him. The requirement to engrave is right on the form 1 instructions.

Okay been getting most of my info through looking at form 1 cans. Pardon my ignorance but does anything need to be engraved on the Lower with an SBR?

Technically you can engrave anywhere on the gun. Yeah most people engrave the lower but you can do the barrel too. Most people want to be able to change AR uppers without having to engrave other barrels but there are times it makes more sense to do the upper on some guns. I have a Benelli M2 SBS that I engraved the barrel because its only ever going to have an 18 inch barrel or a 14 inch barrel on it. When it has the 14 inch barrel its an SBS and when it has a 18 inch barrel it isnt.

So I goofed up due to a dropdown that didn't work. Atf agent emailed me last night, refunded me. Had me refile andI had a stamp this morning. Incredibly professional unlike the web site.
