"The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has identified the man killed in the shooting as Kenneth Richard Talley, 26, of Edmonds. Talley died of multiple wounds to the head and torso. His death has been classified a homicide."

Yikes. The story says detectives remained at the home for an entire day and then obtained a search warrant. The story also makes a point to mention a person must "lawfully possess" the property they are defending. Sounds like the homeowner may not be an innocent victim. Sadly, in a great many of these cases the victim is involved in illegal activity alongside the invader.

Unknown. I know the Snohomish County Prosecutor was initially hinting for both this event and another in Silver Lake that the homeowners could be charged with X. Neither were charged.

Prosecutors in July announced that they wouldn't be filing charges in a Jan. 9 fatal shooting in south Everett.

Waiting 4-7 months to find out you won't be charged is a travesty of justice. To be made to wonder that long whether you'll be cleared is ridiculous.
