I carry a small FAK in my get home bag. No tourniquet yet, but I can fashion one if necessary. I'll admit that my loadout is a little excessive, but I'm a little paranoid since my car accident. What ifs plague me. There are much worse out there... look up EDC on youtube. EDC can become an obsession just like AR building. I just like cool gear.

I keep on me what I need to stop a bleed if I cannot make it to my truck. SWAT-T tourniquet which can also double as a pressure bandage, three 2gram packs of Celox granules and a 4.5" x 12' pack of compressed gauze for wound packing and 2 pairs of gloves.

No! Tampons are made to wick blood away, not to stop a bleed. I am considering adding a Celox Rapid Ribbon.

There are lots of good pocket kits available too EDC Pocket Trauma Kit

I wish I bought stock in the "Band-Aid" Company back when I worked in a knife store.
We went thru them fast ....
We always had "cute" ones on hand , "Smurfs" , "My little Pony" , etc ... For all the tough guys who just didn't believe us when we told them : " Watch it now , that knife is sharp.":p:D

The first picture is what is on my person at all times.
    Kershaw Blur
    Wallet
    Keys

I'm not allowed to body carry at work so the second picture is what is in my bag that is either at the foot of my desk, or on the passenger seat. I rarely go anywhere that I can carry anyway. But when I do, I do carry.
Sig P229 Enhanced Elite in a Galco KingTuk
    15,17 rd spare mags
    Cold steel mini tac tanto
    Work sharp sharpener
    Fenix TK-15
A mini get home kit I made up inside a nalgene (simple first aid, water purifier, another knife, food, a little more).

I rarely venture more than 10 miles from home. If I know I'm going more than about 30 miles from home, a Rossi 92 in .357 is under the back seat.
