Sad news ever one, we've lost another firearms trainer...

Ed Head, who was a Gunsite instructor and operation manager for more than 20 years reportedly died on Friday, 16, 2022. Ed is a retired Border Patrol Agent who trained with and taught for Jeff Cooper. He teaches pistol, rifle, and shotgun and when he's not working at Gunsite he writes for the NRA and The Outdoor Channel.

Had the pleasure of training with Ed and enjoying his company several times. Wife @SouthernGirl and I had dinner with him and his bride last year. It was an honor to be around him while he shared his knowledge, wisdom and insight unselfishly. We are headed to the Gunsite Alumni Shoot next week and it will not be the same without Ed.
Just returned from the Gunsite Alumni Shoot (GAS) along with a class the week prior. There was a very nice tribute to Ed after the shoot which his wife was able to attend. For the entire week, there was ever-present talk about Ed and his influence on the instructors and students. After GAS they always auction off items to raise money for the Jeff Cooper Legacy Foundation. This year they had a few items of Ed's with the proceeds going to his wife, a pair of custom grips and a training gun. They both were purchased by instructors for high dollars, with the training gun staying at Gunsite for others to use.

Ed had a mutual friend sell off some of his firearms to raise some money as well. (Something many of us here will eventually face). We were blessed to take possession of one of his revolvers which will be a treasured part of our collection. He will be remembered fondly with every round downrange.
