Do you know who took the photos? You act like you know the photographer. It was probably CRKT, I kind of doubt they would hire someone else to take those photos. There was no bubbling brook flowing in the background, no ammo dumped, no magazines or vests or tactical gear in the background... not really what I'd call fancy photography or special or worth reported to ebay. Pretty lame.

Lighting is how you keep shadows out of photos. Big bright overhead lights and reflective boards. Angles, tripods (if you don't have steady hands),.. you sure are a know-it-all aren't you? I do have the skills because I'm a photographer. I don't have the knives in my possession so I can't take photos of them.. already told you this...

A theif.... oh man... you need to get some sleep or something. lol

You're a photographer? No, you're Uncle Joe with a camera, getting in the photographer's way every time you're at a wedding. Let's take an example image: PILAR® LARGE

The first image that loads on page has the knife extended, blade down, to the left. The main light is obviously coming from below the knife to the left. In fact, many of the images have the main coming from below the knife, while a couple have the main above. Big, bright overhead lights? Not quite.

If you've never had to live your life on the income of your photography alone, then you're exactly like the tacticool gents who never served. Your a$$ has never been on the line being supported by your work. If it had, you'd have a different perspective on copyright theft.

It's all about you, huh? YOU want to sell a knife so that entitles you to all assets that someone else created? No, man, it doesn't. If you had any respect at all, you'd have sent CRKT a simple email asking permission. They probably would say sure. You stole and they yanked your images. I know, it's heartbreaking.

Hmmm...where else have I heard that a person is entitled to another's work for doing nothing themselves...you're not a socialist are you?

Interesting.

English Translation of HUECO

The name is short for huecotanks in a subtle nod to all those who may know of such a place. Keep trying with your google-fu.

It sounds like the OP is a third party seller. Third party sellers market and sell a company's product then the company ships it directly from their warehouse. It frees the seller from keeping inventory but they are at the mercy of the company; shipping time, inventory, etc.

Which is exactly why my first post was: Talk to your account manager to get language added to your contract allowing you use of CRKT marketing assets. It's not a Herculean effort to go about running a business the right and respectful way.

Stolen images unfortunately are in the nature of the internet.

If you go into the city of sin, do your morals wash away at the door simply because that's they way they do things there? Stolen photography occurs so much because photography has been made easier and cheaper over time for the lay-person to take images. The value that one holds to a photograph has been going down, so people equate it's theft to a candy bar not a car.

It's still theft. And if these images were so worthless, OP wouldn't be so pissed that he can't use them. Fact is, they do have value, they were paid for by the company who owns them, and their worth is paying for a photographer to live right now.

Again, all OP had to do was ask to use them. Instead, he felt entitled to someone else's work. When that was taken from him, he rants about it on an Internet forum. OP's a child.

Regarding prosecution of this crime, I'm looking forward to AI's use in tracking down thieves. The internet was the Wild West for a bit. Most people decided to act like Curly Bill. Well, Wyatt has a new toy coming to help him run down thieves: AI...I can't wait for the day that my work is protected online the same is if it were hanging on a wall in a store. I foresee thefts like OP's going down in occurrence over time.

Tell that to Photobucket and Facebook

Fun factoid; at these and other image "hosting" sites, the TOS explicitly states that by uploading your own work to them, you are giving the companies permission to use the images for any purposes.

Its much the reason why I have stopped uploading my artwork to DeviantArt and why I don't advertise my artwork anymore. Too often on Facebook, someone post an image of artwork, then a company steals the image and make money from it for t shirts, mugs, or prints :s0001::mad:

Yep, that's one of many reasons I don't use FB/IG/etc.

My images are on my own website or on photo.stackexchange...those I willingly give over to SE's TOS for others to learn.
