Long time flatwater kayaker here. A few years back I bought a high-end 2-man inflatible raft (Aire Lynx II) for bouncing through the Class I-II rapids on the Clackamas between Barton and Carver. Any similar runs on the Sandy? Appreciate shared details of start/stop points, etc. Thanks in advance.

Oxbow park to Dabney or Lewis and Clark park are similar to that run on the Clackamas. I just wouldn't go up any farther than Oxbow until you feel real comfortable. The run from Dodge down is fun, but pipeline and the minefield are solid class II+.

Thanks! I'll go check it out. I like a little whitewater, and I like taking friends. But Class II is the max for me unless I know the route well and the other paddler has skills, too.
