SB6077 would ban magazines over 10 rounds and SB 6294 would require excessive training requirements and costs to apply for EACH handgun you would ever carry.

Senate Law & Justice Committee members,
Please oppose SB6294. This bill would punish the law abiding citizens of Washington. Concealed carry permit holders are among the most law abiding citizens in the state.
This bill would have the following impacts;
*Excessive financial burden on low income residents, often those most in need of personal protection.
*Penalizes those with limited transportation means to attend training classes.
*REQUIRES QUALIFICATION WITH EACH FIREARM TO BE CARRIED, IT LICENSES THE FIREARM NOT THE CITIZEN.
*DOL has no statutory authority to issue permit requirements.
*Clear violation of the state constitution, as it impairs a citizen's rights.
*FBI 2016-2017 Report on Active Shooters indicated that the presence of lawfully armed citizen was significant factor in preventing additional loss of life.
*Jack Wilson's actions in Texas church 3 weeks ago, showed that an armed citizen could end a potential mass murder in under 6 seconds, saving countless lives.

Please oppose SB6077. This bill would be in direct conflict of law on day one with a current US 9th District court ruling (Duncan vs Becerra, CA 2018), that ruling determined magazine restrictions to be unconstitutional restriction.
*No data supports that magazine capacity has any impact on public safety.
*Criminal use of a large capacity magazine has no penalty enhancement.
*Not a single criminal incident is proved to have ended due to "low capacity" magazines being used.
*Many recent mass murders, such as Parkland Florida, Virginia Tech and others, the murderer used "low capacity" magazines.
*Disproportionately punishes disabled, elderly, injured or ill citizens from self defense, if they cannot change a magazine in a lawful defense situation.
*prohibits the manufacturer, sale or transfer of lawfully owned products.
Let's trying punishing the criminal use of firearms. Please Vote no on these bills.
Thank you for your time.
