Holosun with circle dot reticle on pistols or short range rifles.
Astigmatism is pronounced when using a magnifier in front of a red dot.
A 0-3x prism is a good option but the eye relief generally sucks the stronger the X.
I prefer LVPO beyond 100yds

Just pick the gun up and shoot it. I have an astigmatism and don't let it hold me back. For me, green dots are worse than red dots. Apparently for another member, blue dots are the cure, wherever you find those... YMMV and probably does
Same here as I've used both red and green. In my case, green dot was significantly worse than the red dot. YMMV

I've noticed a little less distortion with red vs green in a Vortex that I have. Too bad, i like the green better, but it is what it is. I've worn glasses most of my life and have a little astigmatism. Unfortunately it's worse in my right eye and I'm right handed...

I'd say check out a shop that has a good selection and look through a multitude of red dots. See what looks the best to you. I luckily don't deal with an astigmatism so I can't tell you first hand. I have a buddy who does though and he really likes the Aimpoint Acro P-2.
This is the only right answer.
everyones astigmatism is a bit different, and there's no way to know if someone else solution will work for you until you try it.
Red Holosun 507c works the best for me, it's consistently the clearest, the Holosun EPS carry however isn't, so even within the same brand, the size of the sight/distance between the emitter and glass etc might throw you a different result.
Green are not great for me either. I haver a couple where it's the only option offered, it's still quite usable though, if not ideal

I had astigmatism, age related presbyopia, and cataracts. I added up the cost of putting high end, quality rmr's on all my pistols.

Surgery was much cheaper. Went in with 20/100 uncorrected vision an came out with 20/10 vision. I wish I could describe what it's like to suddenly have crystal clear vision after slowly losing it over the years.

That was 8 years ago and I still have 20/10 vision. I opted for the IOL lenses so didn't have to chose between near and far vision. I got both.

I can read a newspaper from halfway across the room, liscense plates a block away. Iron sights aren't hairy and rmr's have a clean dot.

It was expensive, but my insurance covered everything except the optional upgrade lenses. There is some risk to the procedure.

I've had astigmatism so long I'm not sure what the dots are supposed to like without the starburst 😅

If it's worse than that, big smears and the like, I'll get a new glasses/contacts prescription, that's the level where it gets hard to read text sometimes.

Never used a red dot that really bothered me, really, I've got an old ultradot I like and it gives me a massive starburst.

Holo sights on the other hand, tons of eye strain, only tried a couple and decided to never to do so again. Not sure why, not sure if it's even related or if it's one of my other eye problems.
