"Never" comes to mind. These people have nobody to be accountable to so they have no reason to get things right. An example is: "DB Cooper" never existed Except in the minds of the media. The name he used was Dan Cooper but I guess "DB" just sounds better. Stupid and Ignorant do come to mind in any dealing with the media!
