This happens more than you would think. I had a guy once accidentally shoot himself while clearing his gun in his parked car. He panicked, tossed the gun in the bushes, drove a mile away and called 911 saying someone shot him. Took a simple, non-criminal incident and endangered the neighborhood kids while filing a false police report. Dumbass.
