"Baby Boomer" has already been used. IMHO, "Coronials" just sounds better. Flows off the tongue way better...

Depends upon the fabric...

Did my mind just go there that fast?o_O

Suicides are skyrocketing too. One of my neighbors was just found dead from a suicide, cut his own wrists and throat and bled out.. Use to see him walk his pug dog around the complex..

I think we are going to have huge epidemic of mental illness and domestic abuse will spiral out of control. We are basically incarcerating people and we all know what happens when people get locked up. Especially as you sit around and hear about your dying economy, many are laid off or furloughed , people resort to drugs and heavy alcohol use to numb themselves.

It's all for health and wellness though.. Just went out to the bar last night.. Those people were the happiest damn bar patrons I ever saw.. It was like a celebration party.. Yeah, I am in one of the few states that is attempting to return to normal. The domestic violence in Tennessee already was some of highest in country as well as opioid addiction.. Think the mental health break-down is starting to cause a much greater crisis than a disease that mostly kills older people with pre-existing conditions. As well, the economy in Nashville is going to be crushed with no tourists this year and a very service oriented industry. You can feel the darkness and depression around these parts. They opened up the swimming pool at my apt complex yesterday and people never seemed happier.

Who is the 'we' who are incarcerating people?

I have not been affected since this started - a couple hiccoughs I'll admit but nothing life changing such as being 'locked up' or 'incarcerated'.

I suggest you get away from the darkness and depression and get out in the woods.

Go hiking, study history in your area and go experience it.

Is everybody so 'urban oriented' there is no other way of thinking or understanding ?

I think it's different for everyone. I know people in big cities who refuse to leave their apartments out of fear. That's on them. And on the media hyperbole.

Then there's people like me who live in small towns and have essential jobs. Almost nothing changed for me. I drive to work, do a 12hr shift, and go home. I've never worn a mask. Only thing that's affected me is that the grocery stores and Walmarts are no longer open when I typically do my shopping due to a graveyard shift.

Also, Idaho stopped selling fishing and hunting licenses to non-residents, so I haven't been able to sneak across the border and do some Kokanee fishing.

But a lot of families with kids have been cooped up for months with the whole family at home with playgrounds and parks closed. I can see them going nuts.

Heck, I heard a call go out for someone reporting a family playing frisbee in a park. What kind of world do we live in now that someone felt it not only prudent and socially acceptable, but morally correct to call 911 on a family playing frisbee in a park??

I was speaking as a third person, but it is the Government via Fear and Panic induced by media is the "We" I am describing.

Who is affected? Those who need to go out and make a living to feed their families and now are unemployed and have no real feasible means to make a living. Or, those who want to go to church or religious institution and now don't have the right anymore, because unlike booze and weed, religion and 1st Amendment are no longer considered essential when Dr. Fauci and Brix say so. And, for all the school age kids now who are forced to stay home, not getting an education, being able to socialize with other kids and forcing their parents to stay home and watch them when they may have needed that time to find another job. People cannot go out and do many of the activities (bars, restaurants, gyms, social clubs, groups, etc) that Americans love to do. It's this thing called freedom and people don't have it. THose are just some examples.

I can go on and on, but I am not going to bother, because that would take up an entire page on this thread, itself.

Reminds me of an interaction I had today. The local casino is open again and I was need of a massage after being "essential" and putting in 6—7 day workweeks, behind a cluster of monitors, from sun up to sun down and beyond, for months now. I spy an amazingly beautiful blue rose outside said, whilst examining said I hear a woman's voice express delight in the roses and then a man's voice say "Nice haircut, man". Befuddled, I turn and see a smartly dressed African-American couple about my age, then notice the man is clean shaven ... as in his entire head. His consort had a length of hair almost as long as my wife's (down to the bum). I smile and nod and say "Oh, OK, thank you friends", and his wife pipes ups and says "Seriously, in this quarantine, where are you getting your hair cut?!" I explained to them this state is opening up and I did so a few days ago, and wished them good luck at gaming. I never knew my oily mane would be cause of interest and, yet, here we are. :s0112:

People are envious. It's tempting to me to drive down south to find a damn barber. Was talking to a guy at the range about this last week. He said he went to the Fred Meyer bought the last pair of clippers they had. He then told his Wife to see if she could manage a cut. Said what the hell I can wear a hat till they are open again and at least now it's off my neck and ears :D

CountryGent, you just don't know how much you appreciate things until you no longer have them. If I wasn't running a beauty salon in my shower to shave my bald head I probably go out and get myself a fancy hair cut too :p

(giggle) Thank you friends for the thoughts. And for adding a bit of levity to an otherwise dark topic.

Continuing said; one of the stereotypes of my own ethnic heritage is lots of oil in the hair. I don't know if that is necessarily true, but in my case, oh it be. Whilst getting a most blessed massage (on a back with lots to knots and a neck with, literally, metal holding parts of it together) I feel those magic hands heading up to that cranium. I think "Oh no, don't do that ... you'll be slimed!" Ever the professional, the masseuse massaged said brain-pan with nary a word of concern. :s0112:
