Gun Issue - Only 5 seconds

Due to the current presidential stand on Gun Laws, USA Today is
running a Quick Question on-line.

IT simply asks, Does the 2nd Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?

It is frustrating to me that "we the people" are even asked to
reiterate a known right that has been around for over 200 years!

This quick questionnaire gives you the right to make your opinion
heard. It takes 5 seconds. It is still a live link. Our new
Attorney General has already said this is one of his major issues.

This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun
issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your
time. Then pass the link on to all the pro gun folks you know.
Hopefully these results will be published later this month.

First - vote on this one. Second - launch it to other folks and have
THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published. Vote in the
USA Today poll - click on the link below. The Question is: Does the
Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?

Yeah, kinda makes you wish you new the small percenatge that voted anything other than yes. Whoever they are need a good solid slap across the melon!

This is a repeat....I posted the very same poll a couple of weeks ago...the numbers have not changed. It was the same then as it is now. 97% yes. I was told that this poll has been around for awhile. When Washington DC was making the decision whether or not people in DC had the right to posses a firearm.

Really? I never saw a date on it....How/why is it still working? You would think if it was old, the vote link would be shut down. I just got this in an email this morning........

Remember, as the Constitution and Bill of Rights are written, Rights are inherent and undeniable. It also does not state that the enumerated "Rights" are the only ones. It, in fact, specifically declares the opposite.

The question is bogus, as it is based upon an untrue premise.

Pretty much what he said - it "affirms" an individual inalienable right...

gunnut and fingolfen have it right...... the Constitution does not GIVE that right to the people.. it affirms we already HAVE that right. Thus, the 97% voting YES are mistaken. If the Constitution GIVES that right, then it can be changed to deny or remove it. BUT-- as it stands, we HAVE that right and it cannot be taken away. It is NOT dependent upon the whim of Congress.......

As stated, the poll was based on a false premise.

YET-- it shows that a VERY high percentage of we the people believe we DO have that right under present law. THAT is encouraging.

+1 (million) This is a right that is recognized and affirmed by the Bill of Rights. Come and get them!

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"
-- Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
This is what then President Thomas Jefferson said and as one of the Founding Fathers how in the **** could anyone argue this? F'n a tweety people! Call your Senators, call your Congressman, call your governors, your mayors and every other ahole in power and read them what PRESIDENT JEFFERSON SAID!

"being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live as slaves." --John Dickinson and Thomas Jefferson, Declaration of the Cause and Necessity of Taking up Arms, 1775

Yes, you are 10000000% correct. The rights defined in the Constitution under the Second Amendment are OUR rights, not the states, nor the federal governments but the rights of WE THE PEOPLE. That is why the passing a bill that would allow you to carry in all 50 (or is it 57?) states would do more harm to us than anything our government has so far done. Because "IF" they grant us this, make it into a law, than there is nothing on this earth that says they can't take it away! ALL LAWS CONCERNING FIREARMS ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL! Which means the right to carry is just another unconstitutional LAW!
Buy your firearms and all the ammo you can afford because rebellion is in the wind.
