A staple of diets in some Caribbean and Latin America countries, iguana meat has yet to catch on in South Florida, where the critters run rampant. Still, some South Floridians enjoy eating the animal, rolling it into burritos and roasting it at backyard barbecues.
I don't know if they taste like chicken. I can tell you, however, that you NEVER want to park under a tree that has an iguana in it. Dear god if you think pigeons are bad, what an iguana can do to the windshield of a car...and the whole rest of the car...is truly IMPRESSIVE! "Impressive" in a, "holy crap I'm going to need a fire hose to get that off," sorta way.
