"The people of Michoacan, fed up with the fear and subjugation of the cartels and the inaction of the government, have taken a page from the American Revolution, organizing citizen militias that have now driven cartels from the region almost entirely. These militias have decided to no longer rely upon government intervention and have taken independent action outside of the forced authoritarian structure.

The fantastic measure of this accomplishment is not appreciated by many people in America. Though many cartels are populated by well-trained former Mexican military special ops and even covert operations agents, the citizens of Michoacan have proven that the cartels are a paper tiger. They can be defeated through guerrilla tactics and force of will, which many nihilists often deny is even possible. "

Awesome!!!!!!!!!

"One would think that the federal government of Mexico would be enthusiastic about such victories against the cartels they claim to have been fighting against for decades; but when common citizens take control of their own destinies, this often incurs the wrath of the establishment as well.

The Mexican government has decided to reward the brave people of Michoacan with the threat of military invasion and disarmament."

Figures.

That is good to hear that people in another country are willing to stand against the tide. How long will it be before Americans issue such a stance? The only way a movement can succeed is to have a code that is open for all to see and stand behind, that is what Americans need now. Why should we wait for it to get as bad mexico and other places have gotten?

You are forgetting one thing. The Mexican Army is crooked and getting paid by the cartels to stay back and watch and let things happen. So when the people run the cartels out the army will lose money. The army will adjust the people and keep them suppressed.

Too bad the Holder and Obongo bunch have been supplying those nasty 'assault weapons" to the cartels bought and paid for with money funneled in by the Mexican Federalis and government expecting their cut. Groups such as Los Zetas are gangsters by night, state police by day.

If you thought US media was bad. Last week the Military went into the town of Antunez, Michoacan and ordered they turn in their weapons in order to have meeting with the locals. They complied and at the end of the meeting the military "forgot" to give the guns back. The town demanded their guns and ended up with 11 people shot, 4 dead. Almost no news coverage.

The news was too busy celebrity bashing a Mexican actress for posting pictures of a safari hunt.

Mexican media has learned well from big brother up north.

If our government can "inadvertently" supply the criminals in Mexico, then I'm sure the everyday American can help out the townspeople there. I'm sure everyone knows someone that immigrated from Mexico and they still have family down there. We just need to get organized and figure a way to send money so that they can help themselves.
