I'm half tempted to go back and show them online where it says what valid ID is.
Oregon DMV Required Identity Documentation (https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/pages/driverid/idproof.aspx)
This however only states that a CHL is valid for proving your name and address.

In general, these are the most commonly accepted forms of Govt. issued IDs:
https://www.oregon.gov/olcc/docs/publications/acceptable_id.pdf

In WA we also accept Tribal IDs. I suppose if a retailer wants to decide on what they think a valid ID is that's entirely on them, but there are pretty clear guidelines established by your state. You wouldn't expect to be able to go and buy cigarettes with your CHL, right?
If you do expect to be able to do this, let me save you the bother and time and tell you.. ain't gonna happen, in advance.

But what if you are 19 and have a pistol caliber carbine????
What a screw job they are manufacturing to stick it to the law abiding citizen.

Brutus Out
