Do you recall what he did to get banned? I'm a moderator at a guitar forum. It takes a lot to get banned but making political statements, especially anti American ones, or trashing our incoming President, will earn you a permanent vacation.

I should just probably ask, in general, what types of things earn a ban here?
For the most part repeated violations of our NWFA rules.
Rules can be viewed by going to bottom of this page...and look in the right hand corner ...click on "Rules".

In some cases...some actions will get you banned faster , things like trying to get a seller to break a firearm law.
For example not going through a FFL for a sale.

Or...casting disparaging remarks about muzzle loading firearms....just kidding on that one....maybe.... :D

If you want a more in depth answer....please PM Joe...me ...or any other Moderator.

OR better yet, treat everyone kindly and don't try to get anyone else to do something illegal. Then you'll never have to worry about becoming banned.

Let's just treat each other excellently…

If one cannot do that, then simply don't respond. It's really just that simple.

This is from a 73 year old who has been shooting a wide variety of handguns for 60 years. Let the Fudd remarks start

I believe you need to fire a LOT of rounds to become really proficient. Those with "less rounds fired" need to fire a lot more than those with "lots of rounds fired." The more shooting under stress you do, the better your skills will advance, stick with you, and more quickly become second nature. Action/Combat Competition helps more than casual plinking. How many rounds are needed? That varies with people but you'll know it when you can just pick up a firearm and comfortably shoot it well. With a lot of experience shooting a variety of firearms, you'll get to the point where you are comfortable picking up nearly anything and doing well with it. Or, at least well enough to not embarrass yourself or be a safety hazard to anything/anyone other than your target.

So back to the original question. For those new to handguns, you should shoot your carry gun enough to know it functions properly with your carry ammo, and enough to be able to handle and shoot it well without a lot of conscious thought. For those with a lot of experience, making sure it functions with your carry ammo is likely good enough as long as you keep shooting something on a somewhat regular basis. Those "in the middle" should enjoy shooting more!

YMMV

Not often enough is my honest answer, although I also rarely carry. I keep a few mouse guns around including a Beretta nano, Smith 908 and a lil 5 shot Taurus 38. The Taurus usually finds it's way into my pocket more often than the semi autos with a couple rounds of snake shot when I'm beating around the brush at my GFS ranch in central Texas.

I daily carry a 43x, but only have shot it enough to verify function. Saying that I shoot handguns and rifles about every week and feel 100% if ever have to draw and shoot it will not be an issue getting on point every bit as fast and accurate as ny P226 etc.
