Definitely! How do you know if it is in working order if you don't work it? How do you know how it will feel in your hand if you don't practice? TBH, I don't practice enough. A few times a year is all I shoot. Love to do it more, but the cost. And then there is the clean up time...

This thread reminds me of one I started a while back, a little more about sporadic or random shooting with your carry gun.

At least you clean up. Whenever I used to go and shoot on public land, I would lay down some large tarps. It made picking up the brass afterwards much easier. We made sure to pick up and remove our targets afterwards, be they paper, or cans/jugs.

Occasionally it gets fired but not intentionally.

I was always told, you are only as good as what you train with.

When I lived in Rainier, up north, I was shooting my Glock 29, and my Canik Mete MC9 every weekend. Anything in a 15 yard range, I was doing 3 in grouping around my bullseye targets. Practicing all kinds of self defense situations. I could shoot right off my porch and then pee right into the sunset, right where I stood, with my glock in hand.

Glorious times!

Warning to all. The Op of this thread appears to be former member usmc1775 who has been banned from this site at least 5 times.
I was going to ask what tipped you off, but then I realized that you probably don't want to say so he doesn't learn how to be a better secret squirrel next time.
