Yeah maybe left wing domestic terrorists is a better description... you know, like they call those on the right. ....?? Yeah that is better :) ok
We can do that.

Do we want to coddle folks who in the end will vote Democrat because to them 2A/RTKBA is just another right like Gay Marriage or the right to have unfettered back yard pot grows or the right to believe that Fundy Christians & right wingers want jackbooted morality Police in their Bedrooms ... The more we try and do the " Cant we all jus get along" thing the more we let them vote in folks who have it in for 2A/RTKBA in election cycle after election cycle. Until the Democrats here and at other firearm forum/boards start saying they are fed up with the Progressive Socialist anti-Gun party Platform of the Democrat Party and that they will not vote Democrat (Like Many of us eschew the RINO infested GOP and say so on these same Firearm forum/boards things will just get worse ...

If you vote for candidates who claim to support the 2A, but also to restrict the 4A right to privacy, 5A right to due process, 8A prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment, 1A free speech protections, 14A equal protection under the law, who subvert the democratic process by giving corporations all the rights and none of the responsibilities of citizens - have you actually protected you right to bear arms and live in freedom, or do those rights hinge on some politicians political calculus of the moment? (hint: Ronald Reagan got California's gun control culture rolling when he was governor).

I don't think that I'm alone in the feeling that someone who resorts to fifth grade name calling, takes their credibility, and thus the strength of their argument down a few notches. When I see that kind of language on a liberal forum, it just makes me mad and does noting to make me want to consider their argument. When I see it here, I'm just disappointed that our supporters are letting emotion rule them.

I just skip over those posts after a sentence or two. I don't have the ability for verbal jousting, I'll be knocked from the horse on the first pass EVERY time. My concern is people that will leave completely and never read or think about it again. I stay here and read because the majority of people are well spoken and considerate.

Liberal Forums have quick draw Banhammers ,here we let the posters have more & better rope to hang themselves ... so keep frequenting the Liberal Forum/boards like the Democrat Underground and eventually you will be banned too...

oldnewbie, I hope you stick around as you can see your forum post influences more than you realize. Discussion is a good thing.

Nobody's gonna convince a far left Social issues Voter to "wake up" and change their ideology. What might be done is appeal to their left brain "logical side" that too much of a good thing is not a good thing. And if social issues are your thing Guess what? Perhaps you've won already!
All the big Social things are gotten!, Now they're going for our Gun Rights though.
Perhaps it's time too back off on giving the Party in power any more Power for an Election or two???

If that message could be conveyed to all the "Liberal Gun Owners" without the conversation killing Buzz Words like Demokraps, Libtards etc. Maybe we could have a little more healthy balance of power.

Maybe they'd stop trying to get at our Gun Rights.

How Many Federal or State Firearms Restrictions have been spearheaded or brought forth and passed on Strict Party Line Votes by Republicans in the 21st century ? (Then ask same question about Democrats

Or buzz words like Fundy & Nazi Rightwinger & Homophobe & Bigot & Sexist ...

Compromise at any level with a liberal is a no win for any conservative and that includes mollycoddle speech methods. It only benefits the left that prefers "controls" that are in their favor.
Just the facts of life.

we covered this a few posts ago, being civil is not compromising in any way

I'm not trying to defend the indefensible positions of Democrats or Republicans. From the stand point of an Independent, I see the political system as broken, where both Parties cooperate in restricting the people's rights (Patriot Act is the most glaring example of so many). In this environment, having leverage in both camps is only common sense

But "Both Parties" ARE NOT ANTI 2A/RTKBA in the 21st Century ,we can all agree that a "Single Issue" voter (2A / RTKBA ) has only ONE VIABLE PARTY TODAY (and it is the Republican Party)

Things I've learned from this poll.

62 people voted, maybe slightly more than the usual "Legal & Political" crowd that posts regularly on here.
That's sad because "Legal & Political" participation is vital to gun owners these days! Perhaps more people read than post. I get that, posting takes a lot of time.

15 of those Voted Yes! I rarely considered gun issues when I voted until reading about gun legislation on gun Forums.

So maybe if more than half of those people started Voting pro-gun Candidates and got their friends, family and spouses to consider gun issues when voting, we might not be wasting our time here completely.

Thanks for participating in this poll!
