Regarding my first post, my comment had zero to do with my position on illegal immigration (not PC I assure you) and everything to do with mining the border. What happens when some border rancher's ADHD grandson climbs out the window and while frolicking about gets blow in half or grandma's companion, Elmo the Wonder Dog, lighting off the fire works, is that just acceptable collateral damage? If you want/need someone dead you don't mine their/your back yard or plant car bombs in their nationhood, you hunt them down and shoot them in the face. You just don't mine geo political borders any more than you mine a crappy neighbor lot line. Mines are a battle field measure, a horrible one at that.

Have you ever been to the borders? I have hunted javalina down there and first off the chances are very very slim. Second I see people on the news everyday getting killed by these illegals. Mine the border. They kids have alot better chance of getting killed by the illegals then the mines. Give yourself a lesson and go down to the border just for a couple hours durring the night with the kinga lines they have going its not funny. Go and see for yourself. Its an invasion is what it is.

Get off it, we are not at war with Mexico (or Canada) I've been in Vietnam, I've lost buddies to mines, it is not pretty to see someone who has done a full two tours, walking out for the last time so he can go home get the bottom half of his body blown off, and then have him live for 20 minutes in that condition. NO MINES, you are crazy and have no idea what you are talking about.

It would be very simple to get rid of the drug runner problem. Make the drugs a medical problem (like Portugal did), stop the "war on drugs" just like we stopped alcohol Prohibition, the price of the drugs would drop, the money would be gone and so would the drug runners...it is exactly the same as what happened with prohibition. They made alcohol illegal, but the market was still there, so the market was serviced by those that don't care about the law at a much higher price to the consumer. A lot of two bit crooks became very wealthy during prohibition, crime went up, a lot of people died, and a lot of people went to jail for no good reason. At least it didn't take that long for the people to wise up with prohibition and get rid of it

As to those that wish to come and contribute, not the parasites who only wish to consume, I say let them come. That is how the US grew into a great nation. If we vote in a president and representitives that would end the socialist nanny state (guys like Ron Paul) we would not have a problem on any border. We wouldn't have a terrorist problem either.

Forget it. We are ceding this country to Latinos. "Para continuar en espanol oprima el numero dos." but no numero tres o cuatro for other ethnic groups. Too many institutes do not default to English if you do not choose. Latinos are de facto considered the co owners of this country.

Well, if we look at it from their point of view, there was that whole War with Mexico when we snatched about 1/3 of their country....(California, Nev, Arizona, New Mexico)

If someone "took" a portion of the US, I'd suspect that 150 years later we'd still want to go visit/live/work in the areas that were lost....

Think about it. If Canada (for example) took over Vashon Island wouldn't people who lived there still want to have family members come and go? Wouldn't they still want to be able to work in Seattle? (Bad example, but the only one I could come up with on short notice. A better example might be the UP of Michigan)

I DO think we should reinstate guest worker programs. Even as a teen I scratched my head in puzzlement over the closing down of the programs we had.

On the history note, the Europeans took territory by conquest, the Americans took it from the European decedents. No one gave much concern for the hundreds of indigenous tribes in either case, no moral high ground. I'd guess that the majority of the current immigrants are indigenous not related to the original occupation.

I have had 2 family members killed by illegals. Then they were sent back and one of them came back in no less then 3 months going around like nothing happend. When he was reported they would not even arrest him.

These illegals were indicted/convicted then sent back? Who was the "they" who refused to take any action?
