Disable email alerts, keep on-site alerts?

How do I keep my on-site Alerts enabled (red icon showing new ones),
but disable getting that alert in an email?

Seems I have a choice in settings to get the alert, but not how.

Something I missed, or just not available?

Actually, I think that first link does it for me! I've been here, but must have missed all those boxes.
"Alert Preferences" seemed more intuitive than "Contact Details" I guess.

Preferences settings in your profile
click on your user name upper right this brings up your profile.
under your account over on the left click "your alerts" this takes you to settings over on the left down a ways click "preferences"
Go down to "options in the middle and check/ uncheck what you want.

LOL, absorbing forum settings is a headache. Anytime I join a forum, first thing I do is go into the settings, and start filling out the ballots. It's nice to have options, unlike our rights.
