Diabetes Care During Natural Disasters

I know that some of you are diabetic or have family members with diabetes. I ran across this useful site from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on how to deal with diabetes during a disaster. It may be worth reading through.

Good planning. Very important. There are other medical and care issues you need to plan for as well. I have been stocking up on some of those supplies for a long time and currently have over 2 years stored.

Diabetes was a theme in 2 PAW novels, maybe 3 (I'm old and feeble). in all cases it did not end well. I'm hoping that the CDC link is a life saver

If your life depends on insulin, ask your doctor to prescribe you a few insulin pens for emergency use even if you have to pay for it...

Those pens can survive being unrefrigerated for much longer than the vials
