I've been photographed and fingerprinted for my Global Entry card so I'm pretty sure that I'm in the TSA database. I read somewhere recently that this is being rolled out in several airports as a test program. The airlines don't actually have your biometric data. They're connected to the TSA database. Whether that's good or not I'm not sure. What I'm wary about is that TSA has authority over all modes of transportation so technically they could start screening regular bus passengers. Makes me want to wrap my phone in some more aluminum foil.
