ok, I'll bite... how the hell do you run up a multi-hundred dollar water bill? are you taking care of a football field through the dry season? Yea, I get it, bills are like expensive and stuff, however my water bill averages about $30. Wtf? That's usually less than $1/day. Or the redemption value on 20 soda cans, or 10 2l bottles. These people are clearly eating somehow, except maybe for the ladies in the white shirts in the front, everyone else in that photo is going to the plus size section. So what's the issue here? Is this one of those things where detroit has been running a scam on billing people for water? (I actually consider this fairly likely) Are they more expensive because they have to pay to service the debt on the lavish retirement benefits they gave to their workers? (also quite likely) As it turns out, people usually want money to do something for you, so if you're incapable of getting your own water, why are you complaining about someone else getting it for you?
Perhaps these people have never tried the thought experiment of crapping in one hand, and filling the other hand up with free stuff, to see which one fills up faster. My guess is, once the water and sewer services are curtailed to their houses they will be crapping in their hands.
