At some point, they're going to win by numbers. In 2020 we have to defend 22 seats in the senate. Three of those states are Colorado, Texas and Arizona and as close as it was this time, we're going to lose one or two. OTOH we're going to pick up Alabama.

That's a problem because we might lose the senate.

I doubt we get the house.

That means our EC college votes might be a lot tougher and I think Trump is too much of a lightening rod to win again.

Honestly I think our only real chance is to get another vote or two on the Supreme Court. AND get some cases before the court about what rifles are protected and whether there is a fight to carry outside the home.

I hope RBG starts skydiving or free diving. Maybe free climbing.

We have a two year easy gap to appoint judges without democratic input. Let's use that time to pack all the courts we can.

We're in the minority and we need to start thinking laws not elections.
The USSC is our only hope [Obewan Kanobe]!

tl;dr We will have a huge colossal up mountain fight coming in 2019-2020 against a supermajority Oregon voted and gave the keys to go HAM.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Democrats have won supermajorities in both the Oregon Senate and House.

The Associated Press determined that Democratic candidate Rachel Prusak beat Republican Rep. Julie Parrish to represent District 37, which lies south of Portland. Democratic senatorial candidate Jeff Golden, a river guide in southern Oregon and public television production manager, edged Republican Jessica Gomez, who was departing GOP Sen. Alan DeBoer's legislative aide.

The two wins give Democrats three-fifths of the seats in both the Senate and the House, and allow them to pass legislation imposing taxes without Republican votes.

YAY!!!! Just what we needed and could have prevented with our ballot vote :^)

5 takeaways from Oregon's 2018 election
5. Democrats' new supermajority in both chambers of the Oregon Legislature means corporate tax increases and progressive policy changes could be an easy sell in the 2019 session.

Proponents of Measure 104 sought to restrict the ability of Oregon lawmakers to raise taxes and fees, requiring a three-fifths majority in both chambers to approve not only outright tax hikes but also other policy changes that would increase revenues. Voters said no.

But it might not have mattered. Oregon voters have installed a three-fifths majority of Democrats in both the state House and Senate starting in January 2019. As a result, Oregonians can expect that controversial progressive policies, as well as tax or fee hikes, will find a more receptive audience in the next legislative session.
