Most are on Veteran's Day only - some for the weekend or a couple days. Call ahead and see what's offered, and, of course, have your ID ready. Here's an unofficial list I got today of merchants offering various deals for Vets:

Bar Louie
BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse
Champps Americana
Chili's
Denny's
Fox & Hound and Bailey's Sports Bar
Golden Corral
Famous Dave's
Hooters
Krispy Kreme
Little Caesars
McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants
Outback Steakhouse
Sizzler Restaurants
Spaghetti Warehouse
Subway
Texas Roadhouse
T.G.I. Friday's
The Olive Garden
Twin Peaks
Uno Chicago Grill
Anheuser-Busch Parks
Colonial Williamsburg
Fee Free Day at National Parks
Historic Jamestowne
Knotts Berry Farm
Pro Football Hall of Fame
San Jacinto Monument and Museum (La Porte, TX)
Big Lots
Cabela's
Dollar General
Jos. A. Bank Specials
K-Mart
Netflix
Seven-Eleven – Free Slurpee (which would be even cooler at Hooters)
Sports Authority
Sport Clips
Free Hugo® Canes at Sam's Club

On the flip-side, last Veteran's day, an unscrupulous mattress saleswoman spent 90 minutes verbally misrepresenting her company's 100-day satisfaction guarantee (which never made it onto the sales contract). Not crying here. Managment eventually overrode her dishonesty after WEEKS of escalating phone calls. So "why would I buy a mattress anywhere else?" Because Orenco Sleep Country USA is dead to me. Read everything and be careful about what some people might tell you just to make a sale.
