I had a experience once with a wildfire. Driving back into it following a bulldozer to get a friend off the property. Ac on blast and windows up. It wasn't near as bad as these videos I've seen coming out from north California. It was actually about 5-10 miles south of where this one is burning at now.

Really makes me worry about where I'm at now. The 199 is about the only main way in and out of where I'm at now. Wouldn't take much for the two lanes to shut down and be stuck.
