April 13, 2024 - Deputies responded to the scene to search for the suspects. Deputies found the stolen van from the Hazel Dell carjacking behind the American Legion at 14011 NE 20th Avenue. Deputies said they saw one of the suspects enter the American Legion.

Deputies said they contacted the suspect inside American Legion where an officer-involved shooting took place. Deputies said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement searched the area using K9 units, but were unable to locate the second suspect.
 
CLARK COUNTY, Wash. (KATU) — The Clark County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a reported carjacking in Hazel Dell at 10:38 a.m. Saturday. Officials say the victim stated that two suspects, a male and female, had stolen his van.

The witness also said the male suspect was armed with a handgun. The sheriff's office says the suspects reportedly left the scene in the stolen van.

About sixteen minutes later, deputies were sent to a suspicious circumstance near Goodwill in Salmon Creek, in the 14300 block of NE 20th Avenue. Witnesses stated that a male and female had attempted to carjack a SECOND vehicle with a person inside, officials said.


The descriptions of the suspects matched the descriptions of the armed suspect in the Hazel Dell carjacking.

Officials say the deputies responded to the scene and set up a containment area to search for the suspects.
