I would definitely consider a single action only pistol simply cause I like the consisten awesome trigger pull. The double action trigger on the shadow 2 is supposed to be great still though.

I think the Tactical Sport (not the Orange) is closer to the budget you mentioned.

If you want something that checks the boxes without being a CZ, a Dan Wesson 9mm 1911 would be pretty awesome but single stack.

I prefer a double action with decocker if available but am not against a safety. Not super into the 1911s.

any of the Tanfoglio Stock series are great alternatives to the CZ shadow 2 and many pro competition shooters use them

Yeah, no. I have a Shadow2 and Stock III. The Stock III is visually gorgeous, but the Shadow2 is a much better handgun.

If you like the decocker models the best, Cajunize an SP-01 Tactical.
