As a Cruz supporter I like this - but I fear that he's still poisoned himself with his undeclared loans, and the courts need to settle the lawsuit challenging his right to run and reaffirm his status. Those two factors aside, I'm glad to see him making headway.

I'm happy to hear this personally, but it's not over by a long shot. Huckabee won Iowa in 2008, Rick Santorum in 2012, and we know that neither of them went on to claim the nomination.

That said, I do think that Cruz has what it takes to defeat Trump for the nomination. NH will be interesting next week as I think Trump will take that one. But I still think it's going to be at least a few weeks, if not longer, before we can really identify who the big winner will be. My fingers are crossed for Cruz, though I'll take anyone that can humiliate Hillary in November.

Was gun control rhetoric a deciding factor in Iowa as CCW stats climb?

While Hillary Clinton made gun control an issue in Iowa, Republican winner Ted Cruz didn't, and now on the morning after, could it be that her rhetoric influenced the razor-thin Democratic outcome, coincidentally on the same day that a prominent gun rights group pointed to the public's increasing reliance on the Second Amendment?

Cruz is smart. But in my opinion he doesn't have chance in hell of winning the election. I think trump is the only one to have a shot, cause he pulls over the dems that watch a lot of tv. His show is a big boost for him.

Something to read about, while you all are working yourself up to kissing this pig:

"Democracy is a form of worship. It is the worship of jackals by jackasses."
-- H. L. Mencken

The great thing about living in this Republic you can vote for any progressive, communist socialist you like. Because keeping it constitutional doesn't get you free stuff.

I agree, I like Cruz and he's probably the better qualified but Trump can win with all the people who are pizzed off in this Country over a wide variety of issues.
I hope they don't beat each other up too much trying to win, because young Rubio is same old, same old.

The most important issue is which candidate has the best chance of defeating Hillary in November. I will vote for that person, even if they are not my first choice.

A lot of the pollings suggest Rubio would be the GOP's strongest general election candidate against Hillary Clinton
He's the one out of the three top ones who the GOP could work with. That's why I don't like him.
Saying that, if he wins the Primary through hook or crook or his young fresh look, I'll hold my nose and vote for him.

I don't believe the Polls putting Hillary or Bernie against Trump, Cruz or Rubio either.

Republicans, Conservative Independents, Libertarians and irritated Democrats who dislike Progs and Socialists.
The reasons are plenty to not let the Democrats in the White House this time by all but the Prog Socialists and those that really believe Voting R is Dooming the Planet.

I think the Evangelicals will turn out BIG this time now that they have a so called, "real" Christian to get behind. AKA not a Mormon. Just saying, they highly dislike that Religion.

Guns are a BIG issue this time with the so called, 2nd Amendment loophole that Hillary wants to close! It's one of Three things they talk most about. You know the other two.o_O

Lastly and most Important to most people, Unchecked Immigration now including Terrorists mixed in with Muslim refugees. Only the Republican Party is not too PC to talk about a wall.

This has gone on too long and people are getting sick of it.

Trump, Cruz or Rubio will win easily no matter what I'm thinking.

I learned in 2008 that my opinion was wrong. If you would have told me that an unknown black senator would beat out Hillary, I would have thought you were out of touch with reality as I believed the American people were not yet ready for a black president. The election proved that I was the one who was out of touch with reality. I learned a lesson, don't discount anyone or anything happening. Bottom line is we need to unite and make sure a Republican candidate gets elected no matter who it is. The most important issue is that the next President will appoint at least two if not three new Justices to the Supreme Court. They will be there for many years and will end up making major changes to our current laws. If Hillary get elected, the 2nd Amendment is toast.
