I've been thinking about chopping the beavertail off my M&P 9 for a while. I really like the clean look of the shield and the tail on my fullsize digs in to my fat. :D So tonight I got ambitious with the dremel and sliced it off. I need to grab some fine sandpaper tomorrow and probably wet sand it down to finish it off and grab a polishing bit for the dremel, but overall I think I didn't do too bad of a job. Sorry in advance for the photo quality, not the greatest cameraman.

For comparison, here is a normal M&P.

You've basically replicated a compact M&P by removing the beavertail.

The beavertail does help with recoil and sight alignment when the rate of fire increases.

Looks good though.

It dose look good. And still has about as much undercut as a Glock.

I hate beavertails. And have never been bitten buy a slide. Maybe it's just my hand size. But I get away with it.
And I don't have thin hands. Anyways a gen 3 Glock fits me like a glove.

I installed the HDs myself. I have a tool. They were on sale at like $160 ish I think. It's been a while. Well worth the price though. Love these sights.

A guy at the club had a M&P 9 pro CORE he added stippling to it.
He did it with a solder iron and it really looked good. He said he
practiced on a garbage can lid. He had every conceivable mod to it.
Night sights, Leupold delta, Apex flat trigger and sear kit, surefire
laser/light. The ultimate 9mm IMHO.
