Just received a call from Curt's.
My two SilencerCo cans (Sparrow & Osprey) are ready for pick up, and it only took 11 months.

And ONLY $400 to the Feds for the wait! In Europe they sell them at 7-11. (Well not quite but no $200 tax and almost a year wait)

Just quit it will you. No one likes the wait or the $200 tax, but that isn't going to change any time soon.

The Sparrow is great. I'd bet the Osprey is great too. Did you register with SilencerCo to get the custom dog tags?

I'm going to pick them up first thing tomorrow.
Two down, two more to go.
The next 2 stamps should be a lot quicker with the electronic filing. Those where submitted last September.
I don't have a problem with the $200.00 tax stamp cost, it's fairly reasonable when you consider that the $200 tax on NFA firearms was quite prohibitive when the original law (1934) was passed.
    ($3,478.64 in 2013 dollars)

As far as quicker with e-filing.
Here is the NFA tracker trending chart from a couple of days ago. The descending blue shows paper forms and the ascending red is the e-forms wait time.
    See how they are converging?

If this trend continues the differences could be negligible.

I have to thank a member here called "Iansstud" for his advise in creating a family gun trust.
He posted a link showing how to draft one, and all I had to do was change the trust documents to say Oregon instead of Washington.
Worked like a charm, and didn't cost me anything.
Curt's opens at 10:30 am and I will be first in the door.

But yet you can buy one out the door on an air rifle?

    Some laws don't make sense.

Since when does politics make sense? In a sensible country, the use of sound suppression would be encouraged, not taxed.
