Just got the latest copy of Freshwater News today..."Coast Guard Security Zone Around Ships Visiting Rose Festival" To travel on the the Willamette between The Morrison and Steel bridged "you must follow these rules 1) no firearms permitted inside the controlled access area...violations of a controlled access area may result in a penalty under the provision of 33 USC 1231"

Seems that Heller/McDonald decisions would protect anyone using their boat as a home and FOPA would protect anyone planning on traveling from Oregon to Washington. Any thoughts?

Nothing new... There has always been a no fly zone around the vessels when they visit... You are not dealing with federal law enforcement. The vessels are classified as a "National Assets" under military control.

You will see Coast Guard vessels in the area of course, but do not be surprised if you see private contractor's vessels also?
