PhysicsGuy and I just figured out what was happening last night. If you click on UserCP then click Edit Options there's an option in there to turn automatic subscriptions off.

lol, I am still getting them. I think that you have to go to the user page and unsubscribe to all of the threads that you are subscribed to.
