I just love the stupidity that exists in this country.
Why make stuff up when you have examples like this.

It will get worse . . .

Burglar's sister says:
"He could have used a warning first..."

From WTTC News in Dallas, we get this heartwarming
tale of a long-time criminal, 33, named Deyfon Pipkins,
who tried to climb in a window of a home.

The elderly owner inside saw him and fired one shot,
ending Deyfon's criminal career.

As the police do, they came by, gathered the corpse,
then went to notify Deyfon's family of his timely demise.

It seems that the family was upset though, because they
then showed up at the scene.

"He could have used a warning," Lakesha Thompson,
Pipkins' sister-in-law, said. "He could have let him know
that he did have a gun on his property and he would
use it in self-defense."

COMMENT FROM THE SIDELINE:

"That's certainly true, Lakesha.
He could also have invited him in and given
him a beer, then helped him cart the TV out
to the curb.

"Unfortunately for Deyfon, Texas is a
Castle Doctrine state, and the homeowner
chose to shoot Deyfon, as it is right and proper
to do in Texas.

"For that matter, Lakesha, you could have warned Deyfon.

Why didn't YOU tell him: "Deyfon, yo' needs to quit breakin'
into those peoples' houses and stealin' they bubblegum.
Someone is goins to pop a cap in yo' ***."

Wtf.
This should be a cartoon.

We should stop protecting criminals and criminalizing the law abiding citizens and maybe, just maybe crime would decrease instead of increase. And make prison like it was back in the day when people were actually afraid to go.

Could'a used a few more IQ points if you ask me.

The warnings were issued the first 6 (or so) times he was arrested/convicted/incarcerated, and he ignored every one of them.
Does ANYONE other than his sister believe all he needed was one more warning?
I certainly don't.

Mmmm.... That would be called "Eugenics", a Progressive solution to social engineering that I just can't get behind. HOWEVER, I'm all for having to pass some sort of competency test... You have to before legally driving a car. ;) LOL!
IMO, Neither should pass a constitutional test, just like abortion shouldn't have. And I'll leave it right...there...

Had he missed and sent the bullet out into the neighborhood he would have been arrested for reckless endangerment, or some such charge, just like the coppers are when they miss . . . Hmmmm.
Wait a minute. I just remembered. That doesn't apply to the coppers . . .

Sheldon

I'm sure the family believes their beloved Deyfon was a good-hearted person who never meant anyone any harm, and that breaking into someone's house in the night is nothing more than a necessary component of stealing their stuff and should never be taken as a threat to the safety of those inside. Given that they've never been held personally responsible for anything in their lives, naturally they don't believe Deyfon should have suffered the consequences of his actions either, and are really upset and indignant about it. They'll cling to the idea that the firearm and its user are the real criminals in this case, rather than deal with the mental consequences of accepting consequences.... that would be much too close to accepting their own consequences.
