Let me set the record strait here once and for all!!! I Ura-Ki NEED a Rifle, I NEED a Pistol, and I NEED a Shotgun, PERIOD end of story! I NEED these tools for my survival weather it be putting food on the table, or defending mine from yours! As long as I have the God Given RIGHT to make that choice, I will continue to have NEED!
Wouldn't this be an entitlement, because Dad says we have the right... :D

Yeah, that "need" thing got satisfied a long time ago. Its a hobby now. Occasionally I'll realize I buy too many guns and I'll dump a bunch on the market so I can satisfy other hobby needs . Then a few years go by and I fill the safe up again. Its a recurring pattern I'm comfortable with.

Enough said!

Every time I buy spare parts within a month or so they end up being a new rifle. The bad part is I have two more rifles offsite and I just picked up 4 more receivers because of the election that I just finished putting together.
Why have spare parts when you can have a spare gun!

Thankfully the Second Amendment, to what may be the second greatest document ever conceived by man, is not means tested and has more to do with wants than needs. For now.

Very good point. In some states one must demonstrate a "legitimate need" in order to get a concealed handgun license. There is no such thing as the state "shall issue" you a license, and allow you to carry, if you have no criminal or mental illness background.

And in a number of countries, one must demonstrate a need just to own a gun, in order to just be licensed to own one. You have to be a licensed hunter, member of a target shooting club, landowner that needs to control pest varmint type animals, etc .. But here in our nation, people have always felt that they have a right to be able to own firearms, due to the 2nd Amendment. In other countries, the right to own a firearm for self-protection typically does not exist, and is often not allowed.

But there is a big movement currently taking place in America, to make us more in alignment with the rest of the world. However, I think that this is going to result in the lives of Americans generally being much worse off, in a great many ways.

I guess that we need to stop thinking of ourselves as being Americans, and feeling special or different because we live in this country. We must consider ourselves citizens of the world instead. And that our rights as individuals need to be suppressed, and give less importance than the rights of society at whole.

I guess that Mr. Spock was right:

I think that we are special and different , because we are Americans and have rights that other nations do not or severely curtail.
Along with those rights is the need to use them responsibly , which can be neglected by many to the detriment to all . ( Andy Logic :) )

I sure hope that's sarcasm, otherwise that's the dumbest thing I've ever read.o_O

It is said Martinis are like women's breasts; One is not enough, three is too many, and two is just right. Don't confuse AR15 rules with Martini rules.

Public service announcement over. ThxKbye

Good analogy. AR15's are no more important than female breasts. And one can live life fine without them.

There is too much focus in our society right now, on female breasts and AR15 rifles.

Neither sarcasm, nor dumb. It is what many people now want to achieve in our society.

For example, I was arguing with a fellow in Eugene a few weeks ago, regarding the fact that so many manufacturing jobs have been lost in our nation, and have gone overseas. The fellow that I was talking to, though, then told me that it made him happy that people in other nations are now able to get better jobs, and live better, because of that. It made him feel good.

He told me that I was being selfish, and putting the needs of Americans first.

Just who gets to decide which individuals give up rights or have them suppressed?
Or even which rights we are to give up or have suppressed?
And why should I give up my rights for a society which I may not agree with?

Yes many communists and socialists are spewing their nonsense these days without fear and many members of our own government are actively participating in moving us towards that end goal. Just because it has gained a foothold doesn't make it any less evil, or dumb.

The greater good is code for taking what you have. That doesn't help society. Society is better as a whole when there are more successful people with their personal liberties intact.

And dare I say it, America SHOULD put the needs and success of it's CITIZENS FIRST, before worrying about other countries and there needs!!! This IS America, and we bend the knee to NO ONE!!!

And that's a good statement, but the real issue is that everyone wants us to take care of the world's problems.
We can't do that without a strong tax base
And that takes more people working.
Big problem is,too many on the dole,so why work?
