Could someone compare a S&W 4516 to a S&W 4553

I need some infomration
I am in the processing of buying a 4553TSW which I am excited about - I already have a 4516-2 - could some one please educate me on how these two pistols compare - size wise, weight and such.. I am understanding that the 4553 is a very small 45 compact but when I look up barrel lenghts the 4516 has a 3.5" barrel where the 4553TSW has a 3.75" barrel which seems like it should be the opposite. I am not finding alot on the web dealing with this subject. Any infomration would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what the books say.

Blue book-
4553TSW similar to 4513TSW 45acp traditional double action, compact frame,3 3/4 bar, 7 shot, 3 dot Novack lo-mount carry sites, stainless slide, allumium frame, satin stainless finish, 28.6oz mfg 1998-2002.

4516 hammerless compact version of 4506, 3 3/4 bar., 7 shot, ambi safety, fixed rear site only, 34oz. mfg 1990-1997.


Modern Gun Values book:
4513TSW/4553TSW-semi auto double action, 45 acp, 6 shot 3 3/4 bar., 28oz, 4513 length is 6-7/8 oal, checkered xenoy grips, straight back strap, whitedot front/Novak lo rise two dot rear sight, 4513 is traditionally DA. 4553 is DA only flush mag, delayed decock, DAO has mag disconnector.

TSW models are tighter tolerences than standard versions.

4516- semi 45acp, 7 shot, 3 3/4, one peice wrap around xenoy grip, straight back strap, post front white dot sight, fixed novak rear, bobbed hammer, 1989-1997.

Thank you Ligito and Deadeye - it has answered many of my questions - I am just curious how much smaller ( physical size ) the 4553 is than the 4516 - if you look at what is written on the web the 4553 is suppose to be miniscule. I like the 4516 and know I will like the 4553 as well. The 4553 will be a better carry peice.

TSW = Tactical Smith Wesson. Simply put a hand fit frame, slide, & barrel. Very good shooters & uber dependable.
