Not true. There are many plants that can be gathered year round in the PNW. You just need to educate yourself. Would it be a good idea to gather some and dry them out for winter? Maybe. There are many places around here that are never covered in snow in winter and have plentiful amounts of edible plants. This is just a sampling:
