It seems that as Democrat candidates fall farther from the lead in the presidential nominating process, they say ever-more outrageous things about civilian gun ownership. Senator Spartacus has pronounced that enacting stiffer gun control laws will bring you freedom. Really. This from the presidential candidate who's polling at between one and three percent. A candidate who can't distinguish between a privilege and a constitutional right.

Let's face it. It's "Freedom from Choice". Choices are a real burden for some people, and that number is growing. Besides choices like terminating pregnancy, your gender and entering the country illegally, D's don't *want* any choices. It's easier to say "I am a victim... this is my only govt. allotted option... It is not my fault.". If you have no choices and no responsibility, everything is someone else's fault.

If you look at certain people in our society, including large swaths of the recent products (graduates seems a stretch) of our illustrious academic institutions, this is the trend. Socialism is freedom from choice, which explains a lot. Healthcare choice? No, it's easier to just stand in one long line. Breadlines - at least you all get your equal ration of bread. Defending yourself? That is the police. Choices get in the way of apathy and our desired trajectory towards mediocrity.

And this the arrogance of would be tyrants. People make wrong and selfish choices in conflict with the greater good. Therefore choices must be limited and determined by those few who are both altruistic and intelligent.
