Corvallis - Officer runs from man with knife to avoid shooting him

As the video in this article shows, there was a knife wielding man yelling death threats. Officer 1 retreated and unsuccessfully used his taser. Officer 2 grappled with the man. Officer 3 demanded that the man drop his knife, and only fired after the man kept advancing.

Unbelievable in the extreme.

Here in gentle ol' UK he would have weighed three pounds more than he had went he got up. The police here have a habit of ventilating knife wielders - even more so than guys carrying table legs [in-joke here in UK, after a SWAT team shot dead a 'suspect' who was carrying a pair of decorative table legs wrapped in plastic].

I know who this POS is. We made the mistake of renting to his sister a few years ago. He was released from prison and moved in with her unbeknownst to us. The police were called to the duplex twenty-odd times during a one-month period and we didn't know about it because the folks on the other side of the duplex were afraid to call. When we found out the police were there one day we rushed over there. The sister said he forced her to let him stay there which I am inclined to believe and the police would not tell him to get out because according to some ridiculous law he had established residency. Anyway, we lost the tenant on the other side over all this and finally were able to get them evicted. When they were evicted they invited a group of homeless people to move in and we got rid of them with a little persuasion. The entire Appelt family is a train wreck and this community is better off without this guy. I'm not sure what the mention of the guns in the police car had to do with this?

The officer who ran away should have a serious reflection on his chosen career. The knifeman could have casually walked back inside and diced the clerk's neck while he was around the side of the building.

The funny not so funny story of her life is that she landed (ran unopposed) a gig on the CUSD board and was blasting LEO on social media and at public protests while pushing her non binary pronoun agenda on school aged minors. She's involved with Defund The Police (while spewing "ACAB") Antifa, and BLM. Any who that Tweet of hers that I posted earlier is what sank her battle ship and she had to step down from CUSD. Funny how she had to call Corvallis PD for extra patrol because she was receiving death threats. She's the exact example of what's infiltrated our public schools and everything that's wrong with them.

I'm not sure what the mention of the guns in the police car had to do with this?

Mentioning that the police car that Officer 3 was standing next to had an AR and shotgun in it shows the public that Officer 3 could not retreat like Officer 1 without risking that the knife wielding man would acquire those weapons and start spraying the area with gunfire. Before the video was released, there were several people saying that the police used excessive force. In reality, Officer 1 put Officer 2's life at risk because the man could have stabbed to death Officer 2 when they were grappling.
