My truck gun for the last few years has been a Glock 31 with a couple of 22rd mags loaded with underwood 125gr @ 1500fps. feel good about being able to lock it in the truck vault.
But I do have an 8" barreled 300BLK and if I could come up with a good way to secure it in the truck I would think about replacing the Glock with it, with a Lenier comp and 30rds or 110gr supers people would know you're serious.
Why leave it in the truck? A 8.5" 300BLK with sylvan arms or law folding adapter is the same size as an mp5. Get a non tactical looking sling bag and take it with you. Also allows fast deployment in vehicle cuz you can have it right there with bag unzipped but not openly visible to anyone.

The KelTec Sub2000 Alexx1401 mentioned is a viable option of a 9mm or 40 S&@ PPC. Another one from KelTec I really like that would fit this criteria is the SU-16, the C model specifically, since it can be fired with the stock folded.

I've always stowed a Glock 19 in my vehicle and on a recent trip to Seattle, I felt a little under gunned. How many have switched to a rifle caliber pistol?

I do have a 10-inch AR in 300 Blackout, it's always been my go-to for long trips but now considering keeping it with me on all my travels.

Anyone made this move?
Your Glock should take care of any bad guys just fine

Alot of stores around here require you to leave your backpack/bag at the counter, plus as an old man I would look more homeless than hip.

Hold a Glock hangsta style and it shoots just the same. Hold a Hi-Point gangsta style and it's basically a Claymore destroying everything in front of it.
All else said, I would not go to the West side if they paid me. Guess I will just stay home on the ranch where it's safe. Not even a neighbor for 5miles. I like it.

I love many parts of Oregon for different reasons
The coast, the cascade range , the deserts outside of Seneca, love the Blue and Strawberry mountains. Middle fork of the John Day river and Mount Emily. I could go on. The only part of Oregon I am not fond of is the I-5 corridor.

I agree. I live on the Middle Fork.

At least in WA you can't have a loaded rifle or shotgun in your vehicle. That's what make the rifle-caliber "pistols" so attractive.

Something like a Ruger American rifle makes a pretty decent truck gun out in the country. I aquired a gen 1 in 270 wincheter from a good friend. If I lived closer to town a smaller firearm would make sense.

So many options and possibilities. I recently purchased the S&W M&P FPC 9mm. It is fairly light, and nicely compact size when folded. Takes some practice to quickly deploy with the charging handle also being the handguard lock when folded. Matched with Hornaday Crit Def you have a nice little combo that is also suppressor ready.
